Welcome to Memory Bear Lane. We lovingly create handmade keepsakes designed to preserve your most precious memories.

By placing an order through our website, www.memorybearlane.com, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully before purchasing.

 

1. About Us

Memory Bear Lane is a UK-based small business specialising in handmade memory bears, bunnies, personalised clothing, embroidery and sentimental keepsakes.

2. Handmade Products

All Memory Bear Lane keepsakes are individually handmade with care and attention to detail.

Due to the handmade nature of our products:

  • Slight variations in size, shape, stitching and positioning may occur.

  • Fabric placement will depend on the garments provided.

  • Finished products may differ slightly from photographs displayed on our website.

  • We aim to accommodate design preferences wherever possible, although specific layouts cannot always be guaranteed.

 

These individual characteristics are part of what makes every keepsake unique.

 

3. Customer-Supplied Clothing

Customers are responsible for providing suitable clothing or fabrics for their chosen keepsake.

We can work with most clothing materials; however, we cannot accept swimwear, plastic items, sheer fabrics or very thick knitwear.

Please ensure:

  • All clothing is clean and completely dry before posting.

  • Garments are free from contamination, mould or excessive damage.

  • Sufficient clothing is provided for the selected keepsake size and design.

  • Any particularly sentimental pieces or design preferences are identified before production begins.

 

We may request additional clothing if the original items are insufficient or unsuitable.

 

By sending your garments, you give Memory Bear Lane permission to cut, alter and permanently transform them into your chosen keepsake.

 

Please note: The original garments cannot be restored once cutting and production have begun.

 

We take great care when handling every customer's treasured clothing. If any garment is unsuitable, we will contact you to discuss the available options.

 

4. Sending Your Clothing

Customers are responsible for arranging and paying for the postage of their clothing to Memory Bear Lane unless otherwise agreed.

We strongly recommend using a tracked and appropriately insured postal service, particularly when sending irreplaceable or sentimental garments.

Memory Bear Lane cannot accept responsibility for parcels lost or damaged before they are delivered to us. This does not affect any rights you may have against the postal provider.

 

Once your parcel has arrived, we will handle your clothing with care.

 

Any unused clothing will be returned with your completed keepsake unless otherwise agreed.

5. Birth-Weight Keepsakes

Our weighted memory bears and bunnies are designed to commemorate a baby's birth weight.

 

The maximum finished weight we offer is 10 lb (approximately 4.54 kg), subject to the suitability of the chosen design.

 

Although we take care to achieve the requested weight, small variations may occur due to the handmade construction and weighing process.

 

Weighted keepsakes are intended for sentimental display purposes only and must not be used as toys or for infant sleep.

 

6. Product Safety

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION

Memory Bear Lane memory bears, bunnies and weighted keepsakes are decorative keepsakes, not toys.

  • Our keepsakes are not CE or UKCA toy-safety tested.

  • They are not suitable for children under 14 years of age.

  • They must not be placed in a baby's cot, crib, Moses basket or other sleeping environment.

  • Weighted keepsakes must never be placed on or against a baby or young child.

  • All keepsakes should be kept out of reach of babies and young children.

 

Customers are responsible for following the supplied safety instructions and using their keepsakes for their intended decorative purpose.

 

7. Personalisation and Embroidery

Customers are responsible for ensuring that all personalisation details are correct when ordering.

This includes names, dates, birth weights, spelling and other requested information.

 

Please check these details carefully before submitting your order.

 

If you notice an error, contact us as soon as possible. We will do our best to accommodate changes before production begins.

Where an error is made by Memory Bear Lane, we will work with you to resolve the issue in accordance with your statutory consumer rights.

 

8. Prices and Payments

All prices are displayed in pounds sterling (GBP).

Payment must be completed using one of the payment methods available at checkout.

Memory Bear Lane accepts the payment methods displayed on our website, including Klarna where available.

 

Klarna Payments

Klarna allows eligible customers to spread the cost of purchases using the payment options offered at checkout.

  • Klarna payment options are subject to eligibility and approval.

  • Available payment plans and repayment terms are determined by Klarna.

  • Customers are responsible for meeting their agreed repayment obligations.

  • Klarna's own terms and conditions apply to its payment services.

 

Using Klarna does not change your rights regarding cancellations, faulty goods or refunds.

 

9. Production and Turnaround Times

All handmade items are created to order.

Our estimated production time is currently 4-5 weeks, beginning once payment has been confirmed, all necessary information has been received and any required clothing has arrived.

 

Production times may vary depending on order volume, product complexity and seasonal demand.

 

We will communicate the estimated delivery timeframe before your order is confirmed.

 

If an unexpected delay occurs, we will contact you to discuss the available options and your rights.

If your order is required for a particular date, please contact us before purchasing.

 

10. Delivery

Completed orders will be dispatched using the delivery service selected or agreed during checkout.

Delivery charges will be displayed before payment is completed.

Customers must provide a complete and accurate delivery address.

We recommend checking all address details carefully before placing an order.

If your completed order is delayed, lost or damaged during delivery, please contact us so we can investigate and arrange an appropriate resolution.

Your statutory rights regarding delivery remain unaffected.

 

11. Cancellations, Returns and Refunds

Personalised and Bespoke Products

Many Memory Bear Lane products are individually personalised or made using customer-supplied clothing.

 

Products that are genuinely made to a customer's specifications or clearly personalised are generally exempt from the standard 14-day change-of-mind cancellation right under UK consumer law.

However, this exemption does not affect your rights if a product is faulty, damaged, not as described or otherwise fails to meet applicable consumer standards.

If you wish to cancel an order, please contact us as soon as possible.

Where cancellation is possible, we will confirm the arrangements and any applicable costs before proceeding.

 

Non-Personalised Products

For products that are not exempt from cancellation rights, customers generally have 14 days from receiving their order to notify us that they wish to cancel, followed by a further 14 days to return the goods.

Applicable refunds will be processed in accordance with UK consumer law.

 

Faulty or Incorrect Products

If your item arrives faulty, damaged or not as described, please contact us at mama@memorybearlane.com with your order details and, where possible, photographs of the issue.

We will work with you to arrange an appropriate remedy, which may include a repair, replacement or refund depending on the circumstances and your statutory rights.

 

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

 

12. Gift Vouchers

Memory Bear Lane gift vouchers may be used towards eligible products purchased directly through our website.

  • Vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash.

  • Each voucher can only be redeemed against its available balance.

  • Any amount exceeding the voucher value must be paid using an accepted payment method.

  • Voucher validity and expiry information will be provided at the time of purchase.

  • Lost or unauthorised voucher codes should be reported to us promptly.

 

Any statutory cancellation or refund rights applicable to gift voucher purchases remain unaffected.

 

13. Care Instructions

Memory Bear Lane keepsakes are intended for decorative display and should be handled gently.

We recommend:

  • Keeping keepsakes away from excessive moisture and direct heat.

  • Avoiding machine washing unless specifically advised otherwise.

  • Spot cleaning gently where appropriate.

  • Avoiding pulling or placing unnecessary strain on seams and decorative features.

  • Displaying weighted keepsakes on a stable, secure surface.

 

Care requirements may vary depending on the original fabrics supplied.

 

14. Photographs and Social Media

We may photograph completed products for quality records and business purposes.

We will seek your permission before using photographs of keepsakes made from your personal garments for promotional purposes, including our website and social media.

 

We will not intentionally share personal information without an appropriate lawful basis.

 

15. Privacy and Personal Information

We collect and use customer information as necessary to process orders, communicate with customers and fulfil purchases.

This may include names, contact details, delivery addresses and personalisation information.

Customer information will be handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation and our separate Privacy Policy.

 

16. Our Responsibilities

We take great care when producing and handling every keepsake, particularly when working with irreplaceable clothing.

If an issue occurs involving customer-supplied garments or a completed order, we will investigate it fairly and discuss an appropriate resolution.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or restricts liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for negligence causing death or personal injury, or your statutory consumer rights.

 

17. Changes to These Terms

Memory Bear Lane may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.

Any changes will be published on our website. The terms applicable to an existing order will not be changed retrospectively without an appropriate legal basis or agreement.

 

18. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the applicable laws of England and Wales, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections that apply to customers elsewhere in the United Kingdom.
